Virtual Art Class: Comparative Skull Drawing with the Mütter Museum

In this lesson, students will learn a step-by-step approach to create a drawing from images of real human skulls from the Mütter Museum's famous Hyrtl Skull Collection. We will discuss how art and medicine can be used in complementary ways, identify differences in the skulls, as well as learn about Dr. Hyrtl, why he collected the skulls, what his collection accomplished, and how it is still being used today.
Supplies required (not provided): Any pencil and paper, eraser, and ruler.
