Rainbow Connections Grades K-5

Monday, May 136:30—7:30 PMZoom

LGBTQ+ kids & allies in kindergarten through fifth grade are invited to join Rainbow Connections! Parents & caregivers are encouraged to attend this child-centered program. Meet new friends and talk about LGBTQ+ themed books and topics in a safe space.

This month our special guest is Nik the Tailor, a queer textile artist who makes and alters clothing. Together, children will learn the basic skills involved in using a sewing needle and thread in order to construct their own squidget, a fidget stuffie. Adult supervision is recommended for this project while handling needles.

Supplies Needed to make the squidget:
    fleece or other soft fabric
a variety of ribbons, lace, elastic, and trims
    a marble
    poly-fil for stuffing
    hand sewing supplies:
Sewing needle - recommended with large eye like these.
        Thread
