Get into the Mardi Gras Spirit with a free live concert and lecture from the Patrick Kerssen Trio! You'll learn about about the music of New Orleans, its impact on American popular music, and maybe catch some beads! Clapping and singing along is not mandatory, but it'll be hard to resist. We hope to see you there!
The Patrick Kerssen Trio is a jazz piano trio led by pianist Patrick Kerssen that performs throughout Pennsylvania, New Jersey and New York. The group’s main focus is the education and creation of new jazz listeners through a combination of Patrick’s arrangements of “updated standards,” (from sources like classic R&B and other pop music, modern film scores, folk music from around the world, and well known European classical music) and traditional jazz by hard bop era pianists and bandleaders. The members of the trio are all experienced professionals, with many tours and major venue performances under their belts at jazz festivals, jazz clubs, large theaters and PACs, and other venues.
This quarterly series of live music at the Abington Free Library is made possible by a generous donation from her family in memory of Elaine and her love of music.
