What do you think people of the ancient world cared about? Do you think life in 2023 is anything like life was in 2000 BCE? Explore these questions and more through objects of the past. Learn about the ritual of mummification in ancient Egypt, travel to ancient Rome to meet gods and goddesses, uncover temple gifts in ancient Greece, and investigate the protective art of ancient Mesopotamian palaces. Each culture will give you the chance to try a different hands-on project including cuneiform clay tablets, protective amulets, and symbolic jewelry. Don’t miss out on this unique opportunity!
Great for young history buffs and budding archaeologists, this program will be led by Glencairn Museum educator. One adult will be required to accompany each registered child or group.
