CANCELED - Creativity Workshops for Teens: Poetry Lovers' Workshop
Wednesday, July 242:00—4:00 PMCommunity Room, KitchenAbington Free Library1030 Old York Rd, Abington, PA, 19001
Do you love reading or writing poetry? It doesn’t matter if you’re into Emily Dickinson or Taylor Swift, poetry is a unique and creative way to express yourself. We will talk a bit about our favorite poets, then write or hone some poetry of our own. You do not have to have any experience writing poetry to come, none of us are experts, just people who like poetry! For those brave writers, we will also encourage some to read their poetry out loud (the way a lot of it was meant to be heard). Feel free to bring some of your own poems to work on or read if desired!
Kate Shreckengast, a Drexel University Library and Information Science Graduate student, will be leading this program. This program is open to any "teen" entering grades 6-12, and registration is required. Questions? Contact Young Adult / Reference Librarian Sara Huff at shuff@mclinc.org or 215-885-5180, ext. 147.
